2nd Solvay-Me Cardiometabolic Event
International Task Force for Prevention of Coronary Heart Diseases
Middle East Chapter
Amman, October 25th -27th, 2007
Between October 25th and 27th, 2007 we held our 2nd Solvay cardio-metabolic meeting under the patronage of the International Task Force for Prevention of Coronary Heart Diseases “Middle East Chapter”.
We had a nice gathering of international eminent speakers like Professors Michael Khoury, Andrea Mortara, Heinz Rupp, Gerd Assmann, Walter Riesen, Robert J. Macfayden and Tony Heagerty who came to Jordan for lecturing on Lipanthyl, Teveten, Physiotens & Omacor.
Following subjects were addressed to the audience:
- Omega 3 Fatty Acid and the Risk of Sudden Death: Is it another Fish Story?
- Approach to Dyslipedemia in Metabolic Syndrome and Diabetes
- Management of Hypertension beyond numbers
We had around 65 participants from Gulf countries, Lebanon, Malta, Jordan & Egypt.
Participants showed a great interest in the high scientific value of the contents of the sessions. On the other hand, they had a chance to visit the Dead Sea and Petra and enjoyed our social program. Immediately after the event we got appreciation messages from some doctors in which they rated the arrangements and the way of handling the meeting logistics as excellent.
